The Calendar of Holidays in Moldova for 2024

     The new year 2024 is a leap year. In 2024 will have one more working day. In total, Moldovans will work for 253 days and have a rest for 113 days (assuming a five-day workweek and two rest days).

     Out of the 13 official holidays, only 8-9 of them will fall on working days. This depends on the day on which the local church's patron saint celebration falls.

     All holidays in 2024 in Moldova:

  • January 1 - New Year;
  • January 7 - First day of Christmas (Old Calendar);
  • January 8 - Second day of Christmas (Old Calendar);
  • March 8 - International Women's Day;
  • May 1 - International Workers' Solidarity Day;
  • May 5 - First day of Easter;
  • May 6 - Second day of Easter;
  • May 9 - Europe Day, Victory Day, and Commemoration of Fallen Heroes for the Independence of the Country;
  • May 13 - Radonitsa (Day of the Dead);
  • June 1 - International Children's Day;
  • August 27 - Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova;
  • August 31 - Romanian Language Day;
  • December 25 - Christmas (New Calendar).

   

      The Day of the Patron Saint of the respective church, declared by the local council of the municipality, city, commune, or village. In Chisinau, the City Day is celebrated on October 14, and in 2024, it falls on a Monday.
