Prior to this, the minimum wage in Moldova, in both the real and budget sectors, was the same, amounting to 4,000 lei per month with an average monthly working time of 169 hours (23.67 lei per hour).
A significant impact is expected in various sectors, including agriculture, fisheries, forestry, the leisure and entertainment industry, real estate transactions, administrative services, and support, where 17% to 26% of workers receive salaries within the range of 4,000 lei, and 16% to 23% receive salaries from 4,000 to 5,000 lei per month. Moreover, the minimum wage will be applied in the calculation of compensation for idle, unskilled work in the public sector, employing approximately 36,000 public sector workers.
